Since we weren't moving right away after leaving Crossroads we decided to visit the other churches we've worked with through the years. We visited South Nassau Christian Church, where Paul did his internship in college. We got to have lunch with Chris and Jean, and Candice Sharf and Paul and Vicki Franzeze and some of their kids. We visited Church! of Park Slope several times. And we visited Community Christian Church where we served before we started Crossroads. (It was Christ's Church of the City when we were there.)
We had lunch with Yazmin and Raphael Ortiz some of their kids
and Elba and Jenny. We hadn't seen them since we left to start Crossroads over 17 years ago!
We drove by our old apartment on 94th St. in Manhattan
Hanging out with Jen and Bernadine
Eila on the Stockton's moving day wearing the sweater I made her
Jae got out of school for President's week but South Carolina schools weren't supposed to be off so we drove down to Greenville to check out schools for Jae and apartments. Well, they ended up having an ice storm and the schools were closed for most of the week and lots of apartment complexes wouldn't show us anything because of the ice. We did get to visit the schools we wanted towards the end of the week and see some apartments. We drove up to Brevard, NC to look at an apartment building Paul was interested in and took a drive in state park to see a waterfall.
Somehow the keys got locked in the van while were were looking at the waterfall! A nice couple gave us a ride back to the ranger station where the nice ranger stayed open until AAA could send someone to get us into our van. It took a while and we were so thankful for the ranger letting us stay in the station because it was cold! The roads to NC, through the mountains, were very icy, too.
Bowling with the Paudler boys
Lincoln's cool move
Chilling with the IPad
Paul gave me a day off in late February and I got to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art one last time before we moved. It's my favorite place to hang out in Manhattan other than Central Park.
