Family Sunday 2010

New staff babies: Caden (top with his aunts), Ryan and Andrea's son

and Kennedy (below) Josh and Calista's new daughter.

Judah, one of the kids in the elementary class (and a preacher's boy!) read scripture.

Each of the classes performed a song. This is the Prek/K class (although not nearly all of them.) We sometimes have 14 kids in this class.

The teens. Can you see Jae in the back at the drums?

The Elementary class (minus 3 or 4 kids.)

Baby Dedication

The nursery class..well some of them. These are the new babies that have been born since last year's baby dedication. If we had all the nursery class up there we could have as many as 10 babies!
As you've seen, we have quite a few kids for a church our size. And that many kids requires lots of children's ministry volunteers. Here are some of them.

The photographer is also one of the children's mininstry volunteers. He's the drummer in our worship band and during the second service (between singing times in the adult worship) he comes with another band member to all the kids' classes to lead worship for them. Since he was on stage with us we don't have a picture of all of the volunteers together but I believe there were about 14 of us up there.

Family Stuff

We got several really good snows this winter. Daniel got this sled for his birthday from Aunt Carey, Uncle Tom and cousins and finally got to try it out!
This day they didn't even get to plowing 86th St. until lunch time!

Daniel had a few snow days, so Jae did, too.
This is our apt. building's courtyard.

My Christmas present to Daniel was a trip to the NYC Transit Museum (and lunch at McDonald's). We finally got to go this past Saturday.
The museum is in a real subway station. It's lined with Subway cars from the early 1900s to today. We could go in most of them and walk around.

There were also buses (old and new) and info. about bridges and highways in the city.

Daniel got to buy a "D" train at the museum shop with his own money. He said the D train is his favorite train because it goes to Coney Island (and he gets to play at the beach there) and it goes to the Bronx (and stops next to the Bronx zoo) and it goes over the Manhattan bridge. Now I haven't checked all this out but he's pretty knowledgable about the subway system!

Daniel read scripture in the service this past Sunday. When Judah read scripture on Family Sunday, Daniel was so surprized to see him up on stage and thought he was going to preach! That day at dinner he told Paul he wanted to preach next Sunday! Paul said he should start with reading scripture first. He was pretty nervous and we were so proud of him!

House News

Well, it looks like we might be getting this house! The attorney emailed that they are talking about setting a closing date for the 2nd week in April! Please pray that everything will go smoothly. Also, we need to find someone to rent our apartment so we don't have to continue paying rent through June and a renter for the apt. in the house (so we don't have to pay the full mortgage). But we can't schedule anything (us moving or other's moving in) until the date is set and we will probably only have a week's notice before the closing!
