For his 18th birthday Daniel got to miss school!  And visit 2 colleges: North Greenville University and Spartanburg Methodist College.  He's been accepted at both.

After the college visits we picked up Jae and went out for a birthday dinner at Cici's pizza.

Then on Saturday we took Daniel and his friend, Fabian bowling and out for ice cream.

 Then birthday ice cream cake with Grandma on Sunday.

Paul and I were there, too.  We just didn't eat any cake. :-)

We celebrated Jae's Gotcha Day with dinner at Red Lobster.

Weekend RV trip
We've been talking about buying an RV for a while now.  We decided back in the fall that we should rent one and take a weekend to see how we like it.  This weekend in January was the first free weekend we had.  I wasn't too excited about going in January and insisted that we should go South (hopefully warmer) but not too far away. We decided on Tallulah Falls Gorge State Park in GA, about 2 hours away.

We drove up on Friday night and spent the day and night on Saturday.  For our only full day there we hiked the gorge.  We started on one side of the dam.  Hiked one side of the gorge, down to a suspension bridge near the bottom and then back up the other side and ended on the other side of the dam.

We decided that we do like rving!  I like it much, much better than tent camping.   We will probably own an rv by the end of February!  Right now, and for the past 5 years, Paul and Daniel go camping or backpacking with Trail Life about one weekend a month.  Once Daniel graduates from high school (and Trail Life) in June, Paul and I hope to go rving about one weekend a month
