Christmas 2019
Some early gifts....
The plan for Christmas this year was this: Since Jae said he couldn't take off any work we planned to have our Christmas with him and Grandma on the Saturday before Christmas. Then Paul, Daniel and I would drive to KY on Monday and stay until Friday (Christmas was on Wednesday this year). Well, things didn't go as planned. Saturday morning as everyone was here and we were ready to have our traditional monkey bread breakfast, Daniel told us he'd been feeling sick since the day before. He was still able to play games and open gifts with us but he wasn't feeling well at all.
We weren't able to get together with the Paudlers this year but we still drew names for gifts and mailed gifts to each other. We opened ours on Saturday and took pictures to send them.
We planned to leave mid afternoon on Monday but Daniel was feeling pretty bad. I took him to the urgent treatment center and they said he had strep throat. So we decided to wait until Wednesday to drive to KY. He was even worse on Wed. We spent the week watching movies since Daniel was so miserable he just moved from bed to the couch. By Friday he was feeling some better so we met Nana and Poppaw in Knoxville (about halfway for all of us) for lunch and to exchange all the extended family gifts.
It wasn't the way we'd planned or wanted to spend Christmas but at least we got to see Nana and Poppaw for a little while.
