From Caesarea we drove to Mt. Carmel. The summit of Mt. Carmel is 1700 ft. above sea level. Mt. Carmel meals "vineyard of God".

Telling the story of I Kings 18. We don't know exactly where on Mt. Carmel this took place but it's remembered here. That's something that we heard over and over in Israel: "it's remembered here". No one knows exactly where most things took place, but there are churches all over built to remember the events. Mark would keep his hat on when there is archaeological proof that something happened in a certain place and he would take his hat off when we were visiting a place where an event was remembered but there is no archaeological proof that it happened in that exact location.
After eating lunch near Mt. Carmel we drove to Tel Megiddo where there are 20 layers of ruins.
I can't remember which walls and gates were from which period of history but there are Canaanite gates, a gate from the time of Ahab, and ruins from over 1000 years before Abraham and even 2000 years before Abraham!
Megiddo was part of the territory given to the tribe of Manasseh. "...and the inhabitants of Megiddo and it's towns,....But the sons of Manasseh could not take possession of these cities, because the Canaanites persisted in living in that land." Joshua 17: 11-12

Sea of Galilee
Taking our pictures from sea level. The Sea of Galilee is over 600 ft. below sea level. It's the lowest fresh water lake in the world. The Dead Sea is lower (and hotter!) but it's a salt water lake.
We stayed in a hotel in Tiberias for the next four nights.
The Sea of Galilee was right across the road from the hotel.
