Jerusalem part 2 - June 20

Only people who are Jewish by DNA can be citizens of Israel.  And every Israeli citizen has to join the army at 18 or when they finish college and serve for three years.  Then they are in the reserves until they are 50 years old.

The Broad Wall from the time of King Hezekiah and unearthed in the 1970's.

A reproduction of a map of the Holy Land in the the 6th century after Christ from a mosaic on a church floor in Modaba, Jordan.  The city of Jerusalem is on the map and  the Church of the Holy Sepulcher but not the Temple Mount.  There was no interest in that at the time.

The walls of Suleiman the Magnificent.  At places they are directly above the walls that were standing at the time of Jesus.

 Soldiers everywhere!

Bullet holes from the 6 Days War.

Abbey of the Dormition

The Abbey of the Dormition was built by Kaisar Wilhelm in 1900 over the Crusader church to St. Mary.

Many traditions believe that Mary didn't really die but fell asleep and was taken to heaven (body and all) by God like Enoch, Elijah and Moses.

Trying not to get hit by the cars going through the Zion gate!
