Sepphoris - June 15 - Part 1

During the time of Jesus, Sepphoris was a large city. Josephus wrote that one third of the population of Galilee lived in Sepphoris. And Nazareth was only a mile away.   Joseph and Jesus possibly worked here and definitely would have traveled through the city.  Herod Anitpas governed Galilee from here.  After the first Jewish revolt the Sanhedrin was moved to Sepphoris.
