Travel to Israel- Joppa & Tel Aviv-June 12-13

We left from Greenville Airport around lunch time on Tuesday, June 12th.

After a short flight delay and short layover in Newark (just enough time to go through the extra security checkpoint for the Israeli flight) we were on our way to Tel Aviv by Tuesday night.
We arrived in Tel Aviv around 11am, Wednesday June 13th and met the rest of our group.  There were 38 of us all together.  Most of the group was from a church in Oregon.
We spent A LOT of time on this bus during the two weeks.
After getting picked up at the airport, we immediately started touring.  We were very tired and a little out of it but staying awake until bed time in our new time zone helped me adjust pretty quickly.
Mark Ziese is an archeologist, Old Testament professor, Dean of the School of Bible and Theology at Johnson University,.....Indiana Jones!  And THE BEST Holy Land tour guide ever!!  Here he is teaching us about the harbor at Joppa.
Jaffa (Joppa in the Bible) is where Jonah ran away from God (Jonah 1:3) and where Peter healed Tabitha (Dorcas)( Acts 9:36-43).
During the entire 2 weeks Daniel was always close to Mark when we were walking.  Usually right beside him or running ahead.  We all wore "whispers"  so we were able to hear Mark talking even when we weren't that close to him.  But Daniel always had to be in the front!
