July 2013 Vacation part 5 Yosemite

On our drive from Sacramento to Yosemite we passed through Calaveras County, setting of "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" by Mark Twain.  Didn't have the time to stop, though.

We also drove through Gold Rush country.
We had one day to spend in Yosemite.  We saw as much as we could.

The drive up the mountain to get to the park made me nervous.  There were no guard rails.  But driving down after dark was terrifying!

The caboose from Back to the Future III

The #3 is the most photographed locomotive in the world.  It's most famous for pushing the Delorian in Back to the Future III.

Next stop:  Disney Land!!!!
